classes or student raffle prizes for the Senior Decision Day Celebration
 
~ $500 donation can fund: one bus for a field trip (multiple busses are needed for most field
trips), a classroom set of (31) novels for a Spanish class or a listening center for the Cluster
program
 
~ $250 donation can fund: 48 indoor pickleball balls for physical education or two TI 84 Plus
CE Python graphing calculators for a math class
 
~ $100 donation can fund: one new violin bow, a single gas pressure sensor for a chemistry
class or three boxes of (10) clarinet or saxophone reeds
 
~ $50 donation can fund: a micro bit starter kit for a student in the IB Career-related
Programme or a used textbook for IB global politics
 
~ $25 donation can fund: a AA battery pack for Dyson Lab projects, Blick studio watercolor
papers for art class, one set of violin strings, 250 mini glue sticks for art or pizza for four
students staying late to support an AHS event

BACK TO SCHOOL BOOST 2023: Friends of Amundsen’s 6th annual back-to-school
fundraising campaign supporting an important Amundsen initiative
This year’s Back to School Boost is the most critical Boost campaign to date.

A CRITICAL BOOST: Amundsen is facing a budget deficit due to a combination of budget cuts
and the increasing expense of running the school. Simply put, the money allocated by CPS is
not enough to cover the cost of classroom and school-wide resources. Your support will help
bridge the gap between available funding and the rising costs we face.

HOW YOU CAN HELP: To ensure that our students continue to receive the quality education
they deserve, we rely on the support of our community. Your Boost contributions will play a vital
role in offsetting the cost of school operations and maintaining the smooth functioning of our
educational programs.

IMPACT OF YOUR DONATION: The funds raised will be allocated to critical areas such as…
● Instructional materials (e.g., novels for English classes)
● Student transportation (e.g., buses for field trips)
● Software (e.g., composition software for music classes)
● Technology equipment (e.g., graphing calculators for math classes)
● Office supplies (e.g., copier paper)
● Specialty programs (e.g., the rights to perform the spring musical, Mamma Mia)
These essential resources directly impact every students’ educational experience and provide
them with the tools they need to succeed.

OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL IS $50,000: $50,000 will not fully bridge Amundsen’s 2023-24
budget deficit, but it will significantly address the school’s most important operational and
educational needs. Every contribution—large and small—will help us reach this ambitious, yet
achievable fundraising goal.
